The Story of Monatrix
Twenty years ago, two hungry young me sat down in a dimly lit bar.
Change was in the air.
Between them Paul Gillings and Barry Doak had spent a long time in the security industry and firmly agreed on one thing; it needed something new. They shared their frustration of the number of vendors trying to sell what they liked, rather than what clients needed.
They knew they wanted to do something, they just hadn’t figured out what that meant. So, over a bucket of sweaty beers they thrashed out what the hell it was they wanted Monatrix to be. What resulted are the promises they made to each other.
They agreed that if they wanted big clients to trust them, that had to learn all about them and what made them tick. They had to build relationships.
So they vowed to get to know every client better than their therapist, and give them service that normally comes with 3 Michelin stars.
They also promised themselves they’d know the products on the market better than anyone. So instead of trying to jam in the best product for them, they could stitch together the best system for their client, regardless of the vendor.
To do all of this they needed top flight talent. So they pledged to invite only people they’d trust with their own security to join them, the promised to build a culture which allowed their team to grow to be what they aspired to be.
Everyone is proud of what Paul and Barry created in that bar. They created a manifesto to live up to, but more importantly, they created Monatrix.
In 20 years they’ve grown a team and a reputation, that have the great honour of serving some of the biggest brands in the country.
But most important, they still live by those promises from the dimly lit bar.
